Editorial Board
The founding Editorial Board is being constituted. The scholars below have registered for it and been accepted on the strength of their field and record. Every member listed here has consented to serve and to be named; nobody appears on this page before that consent is on file.
Journals are sometimes launched with boards of distinguished people who were never asked, or who agreed to nothing more than a conversation. Assessing bodies write to board members to confirm that they consented, and so may anyone else. Any member may ask to be taken off this page at any time, and will be, the same day.
Editor-in-Chief
To be appointed. Editorial decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board. The publishers do not intervene in the acceptance or rejection of any manuscript, and neither publisher holds an editorial post.

What a member undertakes
Twice a year, a member handles one or two manuscripts: reads each, decides whether it should go out for review, finds and invites the reviewers, reads their reports, and writes the decision. Around three to five hours a manuscript, spread over ten weeks. Members also suggest reviewers from their own networks and attend one online meeting a year.
The position is unpaid, as is every other role on this journal.
Are you interested?
We are looking for senior teachers and researchers at a university or research institute who hold an institutional email address. Most urgently we need Indian history, epigraphy and archaeology, and Pali, Sanskrit or manuscript studies — but every field in our scope is welcome.
Five to ten minutes. It commits you to nothing, and nothing is published in your name unless you later agree to it in writing.
